Empty Flimsy Box with lid

£2.00

This is an Flimsy box with lid. The box was known as clothing to the Middle East forces and The '4 gallon Tin, Lightweight' needed it to give it strength, Flimsies were notoriously rubbish and only had two good points. A) they had square corners so didn't waste space in transport. and B) the handle folded flat. as much as 50% of fuel could be lost using flimsies if they were not handled and transported properly.

Flimsy boxes were used since the invention of the motor car and were relatively sturdy. If taken out to the front lines and beyond the empty boxes were often used for furniture and firewood. The boxes were a uniform size so were actually useful packing boxes for stwage in the backs of trucks.

Please note, Items will be supplied in grey resin attached to supports unless otherwise stated and may need some finishing such as trimming and filling depending on the required result. If any stickiness remains then a quick wash in some Isopropanol alcohol or soapy water would be beneficial.
