The Vickers Mk5 was predominantly used in the armament of light tanks from 1935 and also mounted on trucks used by the Long Range Desert Group. No Cradle was officially produced to mount the MK5 in this later role so it is believed that the mounts were constructed from whatever could be found. It is very hard to spot the cradle in period photographs.
